How does the pump work?
The sump pump is installed in the floor of the basement. Water is collected in the sump pit through the drainage system where it is then pumped away to keep your basement dry. It is also important to ensure the system is the right size so it has the capacity to handle the amount of liquid flowing through it.
It is important to periodically examine the float of the pump. Debris may also drain into the pit so cleaning it would protect against damage to the system. The sump pit valve should also be examined to ensure there is no debris preventing it from functioning effectively.
